Decanter, Wine Advocate and Wine Enthusiast major awards have been handed over and scores 90 points to the wines of Casa Marina, by the year 2008 one of the most successful in the vineyard led by renowned winemaker Maria Luz Marin.
Unprecedented Achievement for a Chilean winery:

In Decanter, in turn, in the ranking “Casa Marin” was featured with 5 different wines from 30 selected by Decanter worldwide. And the same magazine chose Marin House as “The Vineyard icon of the future.”
Highlight of the wines over time:
Wine Spectator, by James Molesworth, the editor, gave 92 points to Syrah 2005, being named as the best Syrah from Chile. “This is also extremely important to us, because this was the first year we did syrah, and for being a cold climate and so close to the coast, was a great challenge to come to this,” said Maria Luz Marin.
Wine & Spirits, said in turn to Cypress Sauvignon Blanc 2007 Casa Marina with 95 points, placing it within the Best Wines 2008 and as the best target year worldwide. From 2003 to 2008, the American magazine delivered every year between 93 and 95 points this Sauvignon Blanc, which clearly shows the consistency of high quality. “In addition, Wine Spirits has selected within the top 100 wineries in the world in the years 2006, 2007 and now this 2008, for a small winery like ours, a recognition of this category, competing with all the vineyards in the world.
And also there have been successes in the domestic market: In the first contest Wines & More, the vine was introduced 4 wines and 4 gold medals, and Gewürztraminer 2007 also won for best aromatic white. Descorchados The Guide, from 2003 to 2008, every year consecutively, the Cypress Sauvignon Blanc has been voted the best target of the year. Maria Luz Marin:
A passionate woman came with an indefatigable spirit. This can be described Luz Maria Marin, the only Chilean woman founder and owner of a vineyard in Chile, which more than 25 years of experience in the industry has allowed him to contribute with a very particular point of view, providing a seal unique to each of the projects undertaken.
During the eighties, the professional side developed its business and embarked on the creation of new businesses. However, never put aside his passion for wine, and remained active in the industry acting in parallel as an external consultant to various companies, which lasted until 93, when he decides to return to the world of wine and engage in his passion, assuming management Bisquertt Viña exports.
In 1995 we decided to venture back into the creation of his own company, but this time within the category of wines in bulk. His vast knowledge of the industry, on par with commercial and technical skills allowed him to achieve one of the first places in the ranking of bulk wine exporters in the country. However, having a vineyard has always been the dream of his life. In 1998 acquired land in the town of Lo Abarca, Cartagena, and focused his energies towards the development of ultra premium wines, from vines that are adapted to cold weather and an absolutely unknown terroir.
The proximity of the sea, poor soil, cold weather, and the rolling hills of the Cordillera de la Costa, convinced of the enormous potential of the region. He received much criticism, but she went on. His entrepreneurial spirit was again awarded in 2002 and was selected by The Mercury as one of the 100 most outstanding women from the business in Chile.

Location:
Viña Casa Marin is located in San Antonio Valley, just 4 km from the Pacific Ocean, making it the closest vineyard to the sea across the country. The first harvest achieved success both nationally and internationally: the highest score Sauvignon Blanc a Chilean magazine “Wines & Spirits,” as the best Sauvignon Blanc from Chile, according to the guide “Descorchados 2004.” And the hits keep adding medals, trophies and awards in magazines and national and international publications.
Thus, this win confirms the good work he has developed this outstanding professional in the wine industry, and that translates into significant awards and scores to wines.
Cheers!
